Getting ready...

Suomeksi: Tilanne on siis se, että koulun toinen harjoittelujakso on alkamassa. Siihen kuuluu 70 työpäivää opiskelijan valitsemassa paikassa. Vietin kesän 2012 Hollannissa, missä tein 80 päiväisen, opiskeluun kuuluvan ensimmäisen harjoittelun. Kokemus oli huippu ja se vain vahvisti halua lähteä ja nähdä lisää. Monen mutkan, turhautumisen ja semikiukun jälkeen suuntana on kesäksi Arizona, USA. Siellä odottaa kouluratsastukseen keskittynyt talli, joka kouluttaa hevosia horsemanship-metodeilla. Karjaa on vajaa 30 päätä ja niiden ajoon ja käsittelyyn käytetään länkkähevosia. Uutta, jännää ja aika lailla eri asioita, kuin mitä aluksi luulin. Jees.

Lähden matkaan AgriVenture-järjestön kautta ja he kyllä pitivät jännityksessä loppuun asti. Nyt odottelen, että kuriiri tuo minulle tarvittavat paperit, minkä jälkeen pistän viisumihakemuksen suurlähetystöön, käyn haastattelut ja lähden matkaan. Adios amigos! Paikka, minne menen on ihan Mexicon rajalla, joten tuo lausahdus on mun mielestä enemmänkin, kuin osuva. Katsotaan, kuinka tilanne kehittyy. Ihan huippua kyllä!

Here we are, starting my second summer as a trainee. Last summer I spent 80 work days, so 3,5 months in total, in the Netherlands doing my training for my studies. So now it is time to do the second training, 70 work days. After the Netherlands I was even more determined to go abroad again, to see the world and learn more about horses. Now it is time to start my journey towards Arizona, USA. A dressage stable, that trains horses with natural horsemanship methods awaits me. They have cattle too, and western riding is used in that line of work. So more or less something totally different that I thought I would be doing but I am so looking forward to it. Something new and unexpected. I like it. It took a few days for the news to set in, but I like it.
 
I am leaving through the AgriVenture organisation and they kept me waiting for quite a long time. But it seems that they really tried to find a host family, that has the same philosophy about training horses that I do and I think -with this information that I have- that they have succeeded. So now I am waiting for my paperwork to get here so that I can apply for a visa and get out of here! Adios amigos seems fitting, because I’ll be staying right at the mexican border. Let’s see what happens. I am exited!
